What’s Astragalus Root Extract?
Astragalus membranaceus(Astragalus propinquus), also known as Astragalus root, Radix Astragali or Huang Qi. Astragalus is a member of the pea family native to China, and Mongolia, which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) for restorative tonic, promoting healing and reducing fatigue because it has excellent antioxidative properties. It found Astragalus membranaceus contains polysaccharides, saponins, flavonoids, amino acids and other active components, especially the polysaccharides. Researchers have isolated 13 of the polysaccharides from the root extract of Astragalus, which have complicated chemical structures, and have been used for tonifying Qi in TCM.
